When customizing your GoldMine record layout, you can make any field “required”. This means that the user will not be able to navigate away from the Contact Record until the field has been filled.
Did you know that you can change the time increment on the graphical calendar? Think of it as changing the calendar resolution. That way, when you click-drag items onto the calendar, you have more control over the duration. This can be especially useful for those who are scheduling a lot of Phone Calls.
Ah, Alarms! The bane and joy of our existence. For those that don’t know, every scheduled item in GoldMine has the ability to be “alarmed”, which simply means that you get a pop-up window at the specified alarm time.
To easily access files associated with a contact record, use the Links tab and create either a link to a specific file or to an entire folder or directory of files.
There are times when you send a mass mailing or other activity outside of GoldMine but would still like to have a history record attached to the records that participated. Some examples are if you sent holiday card or gifts, presentations, or any action done in mass that needs a history record.
For those of you using multiple Contact Sets, did you know that you can specify “local” labels for fields?
For example, you can change KEY2 from “Industry” to “SIC” for the current database. It’s easy!
Ever wanted to schedule a Conference Room or Service Truck on the Calendar in GoldMine? Simply create a new user. GoldMine allows you to create a infinite number of users, so this doesn’t affect licensing.
Getting behind, ugh. I hate it. My GoldMine calendar hates it more. If I open up my daily view (Goto | Calendar | Day Tab), there are literally hundreds of pending items that have rolled over to “today”.
You see that big fat red X, don’t you? Just hanging out on the toolbar, dying to be clicked. You know, the Delete button…
GoldMine fields can be formatted to display in a different color based on their value. This can help data stand out to users and help them easily identity data values.
