Do you sync Zoho Campaigns with Zoho CRM? If so, you should be aware of significant changes Zoho is making to the sync process effective 10/1/22. This is the first of several blogs that will walk you through the changes.
What are the changes to the Zoho CRM/Campaigns Sync?
Below is a summary of the key changes.
Old |
New |
|
Sync Type |
|
|
Sync Ownership | User level | Organization level |
CRM Field Update Timing | Only show in Campaigns after periodic sync is complete | Instantaneous |
Limits | Monthly sync limits for the organization and each module | No limit |
CRM Contact Deletion | Must manually remove from Campaigns | Automatic record deletion |
Sync to Mailing Lists | Required | No longer required – all contacts will be synced to All Contacts |
Some other items to be aware of:
- You will no longer be able to sync multiple CRM accounts to the same Campaigns organization
- The sync changes here do not apply if you are using Zoho Marketing Automation. These changes are for the stand alone Zoho Campaigns application
What Are Marketing and Non-Marketing Contacts?
Marketing vs Non-marketing are essentially subscription types since Zoho Campaigns charges based on contact count. This distinction is now an important one since the CRM/Campaigns sync brings over all CRM records.
Marketing contacts have given permission to receive communications and will count towards your subscription plan. Non-marketing contacts will not receive communications and will not count toward your subscription.
In the next blog, we will cover Topics since they are required to be set up before you can migrate to the new sync methodology.
