I’m all about shortcuts and “pinning” things for quick access in the future. I recently learned that you can actually “Pin” files to your taskbar under the appropriate software program! It’s ridiculously easy (and actually works with many programs–not just Microsoft’s)
Open up the file you’d like to Pin (just so it shows up in the “Recently Viewed” section). Right click on the software icon in the taskbar, and hover over the file you’d like to Pin. Select the Pin icon:
To remove a pin, hover over a pinned file and click the “remove pin” icon:
Hello, I do not get that option- no fuiles appear when doing this after upgrading my laptop recently- still windows 10 but this did work on my previous laptop with the same windows- can you helpo to explain how to make this option appear- it is a real time saver..

I looked into this and it sounds like one possible issue might be your antivirus–if possible, try temporarily disabling your antivirus just to see if that will allow the “pin to taskbar” option to appear for files. Can you pin programs to the taskbar, just not files?
